I'm sure Aberdeen is better than the pre-season 2002 edition, but that same season we had our worst in a long time. Almost all of 2002 was a year-long tragedy which almost ended in relegation (and also lost out in the UEFA cup to a truely mediocre Baltic side that got thrashed by Celtic in the following round) - or even worse - bankrupcy. I can guarantee you that we're better than in 2002 also..
But we got the best christmas present ever that year. Firstly our head coach left, before all debts were cleared. Now things are looking bright both on and off the pitch.
Many up here are curious to see what level the teams fighting below Celtic and Rangers hold compared to our sides and I agree that it would be an highly interesting affair between Aberdeen and Brann if they should meet, with all the links between the clubs.
